The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque - represented by the Agency for Services and Field Affairs and Realization of the Preventive Environment - works to purify and sterilize the Grand Mosque 10 times a day, carried out by 4,000 male and female workers, supervised by 200 employees of the Department of Sanitation and Carpets of the Grand Mosque, over the course of twenty-four hours.
The Agency for Field Services and Affairs and Environmental Protection, represented by the Department of Sanitation and Carpets of the Grand Mosque, carried out 300 washing and disinfection operations for the Grand Mosque and its courtyards, using 2,400,000 liters of high-quality disinfection and cleaning materials, and the entire area of the Grand Mosque was perfumed with 45,000 liters. One of the finest types of scents, and the use of 100 scented diffusers inside the old house.
Also, during the disinfection and washing process, about 500 modern equipment and washing machines are used to purify and sterilize the Grand Mosque and its facilities, and one washing process takes 25 minutes, as it is carried out in a technical and quick manner that takes into account the density of the number of visitors to the Grand Mosque.
The Department of Disinfection and Carpets of the Holy Mosque washed, disinfected and sterilized 105,000 toilets during the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal, and 3,000 waste containers of different sizes were provided to raise the level of disinfection, and the disposal of these wastes is carried out through electric vehicles and mechanisms that remove waste in an ideal and smooth manner.
