Shen Fucun is the representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage project (Peking Opera) and the first batch of national first-class actors.
In the field of Peking opera art, he spanned three different professions and fields of Xiaosheng, Danjiao, and Laosheng, showing his extraordinary talent and profound knowledge of opera art.
In his long-term stage practice, he has formed a family of his own, forming a strong, soft, beautiful, and fresh artistic style.

Shen Fucun was born on January 5, 1935 in Ba County, Sichuan Province (now Banan District, Chongqing City). At the age of 13, he entered the Li family class "Fu" science and art.
He appeared on stage at the age of 16 and starred in the Tsing Yi dramas "Wang Baochuan", "San Niang Jiao Zi", "Wang Jiang Pavilion", "Suo Lin Pouch", "Spring and Autumn Matching", "Life and Death", "Phoenix Return to Nest", "Number One Match", "White Snake", etc. The starring Xiaosheng repertoires such as "Luo Cheng's Calling Pass", "White Gate Tower", "Big Breaking Heaven Gate Array", "The Heroes" and "Xie Yaohuan" are widely loved by the audience.
He concentrated on the artistic essence of the four major schools of Peking opera, Mei, Shang, Cheng, and Xun. He devoted himself to studying the performance essentials of the Zhang (Junqiu) School and Shang (Xiaoyun) School of Peking Opera. Absorbing nutrients in the performance, they gradually formed their own "Zong" Mei (Lan Fang), "Xiao" Zhang (Jun Qiu), and "Xi" Shang (Xiao Yun) with their own unique artistic characteristics, winning the "Zong" Mei (Lan Fang), "Xi" Shang (Xiao Yun) "Mountain City Zhang Junqiu", "Sichuan Meilanfang" reputation.
After changing to being an old student, he succeeded in portraying Li Yuhe, Shao Jianbo, and Ajianbo in modern Peking operas such as "The Story of the Red Lantern", "Take the Tiger Mountain out of Wisdom", and "Ode to the Long River".
From 1977 to 1980, Shen Fucun rearranged and processed "Hard" dramas such as "The Return of the Phoenix", "Wang Baochuan", "The Spring of Yutang" and "The Matching of Spring and Autumn".
In the performances in dozens of cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xi'an, Wuhan, Nanjing, etc., the audience has repeatedly set off an upsurge of "chasing the sink".

With more than 70 years of artistic career, Shen Fucun has won the 7th "China Golden Record Award", "Artist Individual Gold Award", Jingkun Art "Lifetime Achievement Award" and other awards, and is known as the "Pear Garden Leader".
By the late 1980s, he has starred in more than 60 plays.
Among them, "Jade Hall Spring", "Phoenix Returning to the Nest", "Wang Baochuan" and "Spring and Autumn Matching·Firewood Collection" have become "housekeeper repertoires" that mark his artistic achievements.
Shen Fucun is also a well-known opera educator and has cultivated a group of opera talents, including his daughter—Vice Chairman of the Chinese Theatre Association, Chairman of Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Dean of Chongqing Sichuan Theatre, and winner of the third “Plum Blossom Award” for Chinese Drama Shen Tiemei, Chongqing Cheng Lianqun, Vice Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Chairman of Chongqing Drama Association.
It is reported that due to the epidemic, Shen Fucun's funeral will be simplified.
