The Imperial Palace's "Sannomaru Shozokan", which holds works of art related to the imperial family, will be closed from December 12th until the opening of the new facility next fall due to the rebuilding of the facility.
The Sannomaru Shozokan, located in the Imperial Palace East Garden, holds nearly 10,000 works of art, including national treasures donated by the imperial family to the country, and some of them are open to the public free of charge.
Currently, the construction of a new facility for "Sannomaru Shozokan" is underway, and the current building is to be demolished after the completion of the new facility. I decided to close it.
The new facility is scheduled to open again next fall, and the Imperial Household Agency will inspect and clean the collection until then.
