The resumption of air traffic to American cities is a breath of fresh air for the company Air France which, before the pandemic, had embarked on a restructuring of its activities.

Hard hit by the Covid-19 crisis, like the entire aviation sector, the group has benefited from state aid to overcome it.

"The loans we have taken out to get through the crisis are important," recalls Anne Rigail.

"We need to both take advantage of all restart opportunities and continue this transformation so that we can meet these loan deadlines."

Air transport, which generates a lot of CO2 emissions, is also facing the challenge of energy transition.

Anne Rigail looks back on the efforts made by Air France, in particular with the "renewal of the fleet by half to be replaced by new generation planes" which pollute less.
