The spring's planned recordings had to be canceled due to the pandemic situation in France where the entertainment program is being recorded, but now new recordings are planned for the summer of 2022, writes Aftonbladet.
The new season, however, means a big change: the tigers that viewers are used to seeing disappear from the celebrity competition.
Jonathan Nordin, executive producer at TV4, confirms the decision about the tigers for Aftonbladet.
The organization World Animal Protections writes on its website that the decision was made at their request and is based on the welfare of the animals.
“The decision to remove the wildlife from the program was made at the request of us and our supporters.
We do not believe that wild animals belong as entertainment in a modern television program in 2021, where animal welfare should be a natural part of ethics ”.
According to the organization, other live animals, such as snakes and spiders, should not be included in the program.
However, this has not been confirmed by TV4.
The tigers that were previously part of the program may now retire.
