Recently, the Caohai National Nature Reserve in Guizhou Province ushered in the first batch of overwintering migratory birds such as gray cranes, bar-headed geese and red ducks in the winter of 2021.

Due to the warm weather, the first batch of birds arriving in Caohai for overwintering this year was a few days earlier than in previous years, and the number is increasing every day.

In the seven migratory bird habitats in the reserve, all kinds of migratory birds can forage freely, play happily in the water, or fly above the sea of grass.

In order to allow the migratory birds to survive the winter safely, under the coordination of the Caohai Management Committee, the rangers in various habitats have made every effort to prepare for the safe overwintering of migratory birds, and while building a green granary, the rangers have gradually increased their patrol efforts. Effectively collect information on the life of migratory birds, and timely grasp the health status of later birds, to ensure that the black-necked cranes that come to Caohai "live for a living" and "eat a canteen" to survive the winter safely.
