Be careful if you have planned to take a dip or go for a walk on the seaside of the Alpes-Maritimes.

The prefecture warns that, according to Météo-France forecasts, a potentially dangerous swell phenomenon is expected this Tuesday afternoon.

Waves greater than two meters can form until early evening.

“The entire coast of the Alpes-Maritimes is exposed and more particularly the Cap d'Antibes”, state the state services, “strongly” advising against swimming.

In a tweet, the prefecture still issues the rules to follow if you are faced with this kind of surge.

She recalls that "the best way to pass a wave is to dive below" and encourages "not to panic" and "to let yourself float" to "not run out" and be able to "call for help".
