  The general election of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will be held on December 19, and the nomination period will run from October 30 to November 12.

  Carrie Lam said that as of the evening of the 8th, the general election of the Legislative Council had received 111 nomination forms, covering the three major sections of the election. It is believed that a certain number of nomination forms will be received in the next four days.

Initially, under a well-established electoral system, people with broad representation are willing to stand for election.

  "We eagerly hope that this Legislative Council election will be fair, just, and healthy, so that we can elect 90 legislators who are interested in serving the people of Hong Kong." Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said.

  According to the law, the Candidate Qualification Review Committee (Qualification Review Board) must confirm the qualifications of the candidates within two weeks after the end of the nomination period.

Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that the Chief Secretary for Administration Li Jiachao, who is also the chairman of the Council, has publicly stated that the relevant work will be completed by November 26.

  Carrie Lam said that from now to December 19, the SAR government will arrange a lot of publicity to call on voters to fulfill their civic responsibilities and elect a seventh legislative council that can serve the people of Hong Kong.

  When asked when it will be implemented to set up polling stations at the port, Carrie Lam said that the SAR government is working with relevant central ministries and ports to study how to allow Hong Kong voters in the Mainland to vote, and will strive to announce it as soon as possible.
