“Aline”, the sixth film by Valérie Lemercier, traces with humor and great tenderness the life and international career of Quebec singer Céline Dion.

An intimate and sincere film which kindly tells a true love story.

Valérie Lemercier returns with a sixth film, which looks like a real fairy tale.

Or rather a story of a princess, with beautiful dresses, beautiful shoes, beautiful decorations, great joys, and great sorrows that we manage to overcome by dint of love.

This new film by the director is above all a love story.

Filial and family love, within a large and not very rich family, but which finds true happiness in song and music.

A love story between a young girl and a man much older than her, between a Pygmalion and a Galatea with the Quebec accent in addition.

But also a love story between a mother and her children that she will have waited for so long, between an artist and her audience, against a backdrop of songs, and especially love songs.

A real blue flower side, real moments of emotion in this true-false biopic of Céline Dion, which the director has adapted in Aline, with this sincerity, this requirement, and this little grain of sweet madness and tender irony that 'we know him.

“Aline” by Valérie Lemercier comes out Wednesday, November 10 on French screens.
