A centenary ... and after?

In China, the Communist Party is celebrating its 100th anniversary with great fanfare this year.

The meeting of the central committee, which opened today (November 8, 2021) in Beijing, therefore naturally has a special flavor.

And an ambition, it seems, according to observers: to establish the reign of Xi Jinping and to inscribe it in a lasting way in history.

A leader that some now compare to the new Mao.

The way to the third term is open to him next year (2022) for the 20th Party Congress.

A stranglehold on the state apparatus in a society under a security lock, regaining control of an economy that dreamed of being - for a time - liberal and bringing its private actors into line, a strong comeback of a certain red ideology ... How did Xi Jinping build what he calls "the Chinese solution", and how does he intend to make his country the world's leading power?

Is he really all powerful?
