A foreign publishing house displays at the Sharjah International Book Fair a copy of the book “Le Capital” by the international philosopher and critic of political economy, Karl Marx, signed by the author, with an amount of (two million and 846 thousand and 250 dirhams).

While the publishing house displays other copies of the same book, which Marx wrote in 1872, without his signature, at a value of (569,250 dirhams).

The presentation of the book, which attracted interest from visitors to the exhibition, explained that Marx devoted 15 years between 1844 and 1879, between writing, extensive research and drafts, explaining that the author was not completely satisfied with the work, so he rewrote it more than once.

The French version of the book bears the name “Le Capital,” while the German version bears “Das Kapital.” The offer made by the publishing house clarified that the French version is the approved one, to which Marx made additions and modifications, and has been auctioned for the past 60 years.

The presentation explained that after two decades of economic study and preparatory work, especially with regard to the theory of surplus value, the first volume of the book appeared in 1867 under the name “The Process of Capital Production”, which is a critical analysis of political economy, aimed at revealing the contradictions of the capitalist mode of production, and how It was an introduction to the socialist mode of production and the class struggle in the capitalist social relations of production.

The second volume, titled “Capital Circulation Process” appeared in 1885, which deals with the main ideas behind the market, and how to achieve value and surplus value, while the third volume entitled “The Comprehensive Process of Capitalist Production” appeared in 1894, which provided an explanation for the high requirements of organic fixed capital for production. .

The book was translated into Arabic by the professor at the Faculty of Commerce at Fouad I University (Cairo University), Dr. Rashid Al-Barawi, in 1947.

On the other hand, the publishing house displayed at the 40th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, which concludes next Saturday, a group of manuscripts of rare Arabic books, including the book “Al Falaha” by Ibn Al-Awwam, which is presented at 10,000 pounds, and a book on the life of the Prophet by Ismail Abu Al-Feda. 8750 pounds sterling.
