Indian police say a 27-year-old man, who went missing in mid-October, was killed by the husband of the woman he was having an affair with.

Three people, including the main accused, were arrested in connection with the matter.

The police were able to solve the murder case after they spotted a slipper used by the victim in the front yard of a house, where the "slipper" eventually led the police to identify the prime suspect in the case.

Indian newspapers published a report on the incident, in which it stated that the victim's mother had reported the missing 27-year-old man on October 22.

The report said that the police investigated various possibilities, including kidnapping, but during the investigation, they found the slippers of the missing man in the front yard of the suspect's house.

Another investigation revealed that the man was having an affair with another man's wife, and a slip was found in the yard of the killer's house.

Police said the murder occurred after the main accused noticed two missed calls on his wife's phone on the night of October 21.

The calls were made from the victim's mobile phone number, police said.

Later in the night, the victim came to meet the accused's wife.

The accused and his two accomplices then stabbed the victim in the chest and abdomen.

The three perpetrators then took the victim's body to a location owned by the main accused and burned his body to ashes.

"Later, the bodies were scattered in various places in the region, including some bodies of water," the report said.

After opening an investigation into the matter, the police arrested the husband's partner in crime, who in turn led the police to arrest the main accused, the husband, and his assistant in Madhya Pradesh.
