Traveling to Montpellier on Friday, Prime Minister Jean Castex detailed the investments in Occitania planned under the Ségur de la Santé.

Namely "1.6 billion euros over 10 years", divided into "1.4 billion to build the health establishments of tomorrow, and 200 million to build the nursing homes of tomorrow".

Among the structuring projects of this plan, the construction of a common hospital between Tarbes and Lourdes for 210 million euros.

"This new hospital will guarantee the patients of the territory a renewed offer of care" with an emphasis on geriatrics.

This hospital is in addition to the “five regional priority health projects” identified, including the Montpellier University Hospital.

Another hospital supported, that of Auch, in the Gers, to the tune of 7 million euros, as well as those of Montauban, Millau and Saint-Affrique.

In addition to these major projects, 178 Ephad will be supported in the Occitanie region, as well as 61 health establishments.
