According to a report by Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao, on November 5 local time, Indian officials said that an explosion occurred in a statue-making factory in Telangana, southern India, causing two deaths and one injured.

A police officer said that in the old district of Kandikarmen in Hyderabad, when workers set off firecrackers during Deepavali (also known as Diwali) celebrations, an explosion occurred in the factory.

  After the explosion, the police and fire brigade rushed to the scene.

  Local officials said that two people were killed in the accident, and the other was seriously injured and sent to hospital.

  The officials also said that forensic experts collected samples from the scene, and preliminary investigations revealed that firecrackers fell into the chemical stored in the unit when the explosion occurred.
