Sheikha Al Yazia bint Nahyan Al Nahyan, Extraordinary Ambassador for Arab Culture to the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science "ALECSO" and the founder of Anasy Media Company, affirmed that the UAE and its wise leadership are keen to empower and enhance the role of women and their presence in Arab and international cultural forums to enrich the cultural scene, noting that Participation in the regional forum on empowering creative women in the Arab countries under the title “Ongoing and Emerging Challenges” stems from the interest of the UAE and its leadership to attend the creative cultural arena.

In a speech she delivered while heading the official delegation of the country participating in the forum, which concluded today in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott and lasted for three days, Sheikha Yazia said that the forum is an opportunity to exchange culture and present and present the creations of Arab women that reflect the meanings of Arab values ​​and ideas.

Sheikha Yazia began her speech by thanking the wife of the President of the Mauritanian Republic, Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al-Ghazwani, Dr. Maryam bint Al-Dah for her generous sponsorship of the forum. She also thanked the organizers of the forum, His Excellency Al-Mukhtar Ould Dahi, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports in Mauritania, and His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director General of the Arab Organization for Education and Culture. During her participation in the forum, in the presence of Nah Bint Meknes, Minister of Trade and Industry in Mauritania, and Mona Bint Dah, head of ceremonies for the first lady, Sheikha Al Yazia visited the Zayed Center for Autistic Children located in Nouakchott, which opened in 2018 and is the first of its kind in Mauritania to treat and diagnose children with autism.

During her tour of the center's departments, Sheikha Al Yazia was briefed on its services and tasks, as it embraces children from three to 14 years old.

During the visit, a film was shown about the center's departments and the activities it organizes for children, while I listened to a full explanation from its organizers about the rehabilitative role it plays in favor of autistic children.

Sheikha Al Yazia bint Nahyan also visited the Training Center for the Carpet Industry and was briefed on the innovations and designs of Mauritanian women in making carpets made of camel hair.

She also toured a fine art exhibition in which 25 female artists participated and was held at the Diplomatic Academy of the Mauritanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The female artists participated in a fine art workshop.


At the end of the tour in the exhibition, the Mauritanian Minister of Culture presented Sheikha Yazia with a shield in appreciation of her efforts in serving Arab culture.


Sheikha Al Yazia witnessed the screening of the Emirati short film “Athel” in the presence of a number of female creators in the fields of cinema, media, poetry and film directed by Sheikha Al Yazia and produced by Toster Company and Anasy Media Company. The activities of the forum aim to diagnose and study the challenges facing Arab women in general and creative women in particular, and impede their effective participation in shaping healthy, inclusive and pluralistic Arab societies, as well as highlighting the valorization of the participation of creative women in shaping the cultural and creative landscape and highlighting the role of women’s creativity in achieving the goals of social, economic and cultural development.
