African Champions League: Wadi Degla and Hasaacas Ladies make history

Wadi Degla won the opening match of the first-ever African Champions League on November 5, 2021 in Cairo.

The Egyptian club beat Malian side AS Mandé 3-1.

In the other meeting of the day, the Ghanaian girls of Hasaacas Ladies dominated the Equatorial Guineans of Malabo Kings by the same score.

The Egyptian Noha Mamdouh Abdelaziz entered the history of African football on November 5, 2021. She scored the very first goal in the history of the Champions League.

A penalty that launched Wadi Degla's 3-1 success against AS Mandé during this inaugural season.

The other goals of this historic meeting were scored by Fatumata Dukureh and Jasmin Theresa for the Egyptian club and by Awa Traoré for the Malian team.

Wadi Degla defender Hayam Abdelhafez was voted best player of the game.

Evelyn Badu's double

Later in the evening, the Ghanaian girls of Hasaacas Ladies won by the same score, against the Equatorial Guineans of Malabo Kings.

Evelyn Badu was voted Woman of the Match.

She has indeed scored a double.

Forever the first in this field.

This November 6 will be played Vihiga Queens (Kenya) - Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) and AS FAR (Morocco) - Rivers Angels (Nigeria), in group B.
