"We do not have strict enough regulations to protect drinking water"

This extension of the list of toxic substances found in drinking water in the United States is proof that "we do not have strict enough regulations in place to protect drinking water and [that] the regulatory process is too much. too slow, ”said Tasha Stoiber, senior scientist at the Environmental Working Group.

The 56 new substances identified would be related to PFAS, a toxic class of “forever chemicals” that are used by industries.

Faced with this problem, specialists advise Americans to buy filters for drinking water.

But also to document these contaminants and to widely support the establishment of strict regulations on this subject.
