In an accident in north-west France, one person was killed and three others were injured.

As reported by the French radio station France Bleu, a regional train drove into a group of people at around 6.30 p.m.

According to the report, the approximately 50 people are said to be migrants who have moved on the rails.

The train driver is therefore in shock and is being treated psychologically.

The train was traveling between Dunkirk and Calais on the Channel coast when it caught the group in Beau Marais.

A lifeless body of a migrant was only found on the French coast on Thursday morning.

In the past few days, at least two people have died trying to cross the English Channel in overcrowded boats.

Several boats had sunk.

The French coast guard rescued more than 400 refugees.

In the towns around Calais there are apparently still hundreds of people waiting for their crossing.

For years, migrants used the Eurotunnel between Folkstone and Calais on their way to the UK, hiding in trucks and on ferries.

Since the 2015 crisis, controls in Calais have been tightened with the help of the British.
