An exceptional guitar will be offered by Vichy Enchères, during a sale which will take place on Friday and Saturday in the city of Allier.

The instrument dates from 1882 and belonged to Antonio Torres, reports

La Montagne

.

It is estimated between 100,000 and 150,000 euros.

The auctioneer in charge of the auction is full of praise for this guitar: “It is an unprecedented model by this luthier from Seville, the guitar Stradivarius, explains Étienne Laurent to our colleagues.

This instrument, by its finesse and refinement, is a demonstration of the master's undeniable excellence, as well as of the legitimacy of his universal renown ”.

The signing of Antonio de Torres

The instrument belonged to Princess Toporkoff and had been bequeathed to a religious community in Brittany.

It was then entrusted to Vichy Enchères.

The company carried out expertises to authenticate the guitar on which we could find the signature of Antonio de Torres and that of his successor, Ramirez.

The latter had restored the object in 1904. The guitar sold at auction is typical of the work of the Spanish luthier, with a spruce and maple construction and a rosette.
