The distribution of social housing is uneven in Val-de-Marne.

Some municipalities do not respect the 25% mandatory by the law on solidarity and urban renewal (SRU), reports Actu Val-de-Marne on Tuesday.

This is the case of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, which has only 8.3%, and Saint-Mandé, 10.8%.

On the contrary, four municipalities largely exceed this threshold: Valenton (64.6%), Bonneuil-sur-Marne (61.5%), Orly (56.5%) and Gentilly (53.3%).

In addition, our colleagues from the

Parisian

have obtained a circular of May 11, signed by ministers delegate to Housing, which is considering banning the construction of social housing in cities already owning more than 40%.

A "catastrophic" situation

For some left-wing elected officials of the Greater Paris Metropolis, the social housing situation is “catastrophic”.

They called for demonstrations next Wednesday to demand an obligation of 30% of social housing in the municipalities and a regulation of rents throughout Greater Paris.

In October, the departmental council of Val-de-Marne decided to stop financing new social housing in towns which already have more than 40%.

This money should be used "for the renovation, improvement and thermal insulation of social housing in these municipalities".
