This meeting is part of the summit that is held in the Scottish city of Glasgow and to which Spain attends with the

Climate Change Law

approved (last May), being one of the ten countries that includes emission reduction targets in a state law.

In the Spanish case, the emission reduction forecast for 2030 is 23% compared to the 1990 level.

Precisely, sources from the Ministry have considered that Spain "should take advantage of its presence at COP26 to step on the accelerator in the fight against the climate emergency, being more ambitious and leading the emission reduction objectives in the EU."
