An elderly woman finds a diamond worth $2.7 million while cleaning her house

An elderly woman is shocked to discover that the diamonds she was about to dispose of are worth millions.

According to a BBC report, the woman, in her 70s, found the diamond while cleaning her home in Northumberland.

At first, I thought it was a jewelry stone and didn't think much about it.

However, she then took it to an auctioneer to find out its value, only to find that it was a 34-carat natural diamond and was worth £2 million, or about $2.73 million.

According to the BBC, the stone was bought by the woman along with several other items in the trunk sale many years ago.

When she finally realized the true value of diamonds, she was left in a daze and couldn't believe she almost threw them in the trash.

Mark Lane of Fittonby Auctions in North Shield said the diamond was kept in a box along with the woman's wedding paraphernalia and other pieces of low-value jewelry.

Lin added that the old woman had brought a bag of jewelry to appreciate it after the advice of her friend, instead of throwing it in the trash.

The diamond is expected to be auctioned in London on the 30th of this month, and Fittonbee Auctions published a picture of the diamond to promote it before the auction with its strange tale.
