At the top of its group with a point ahead of Ghana, South Africa will face Zimbabwe on November 11.

Then, it will be a "final" against the Black Stars on November 14th.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, who unveiled his list of 24 players selected for the occasion, called on Percy Tau forfeit last month.

Has the

Bafana

striker

Bafana

regained some of his splendor? Either way, Percy Tau scored twice on his debut for Egyptian giants al-Ahly, beating Ismaily SC 4-0 in the league on October 27. The former Brighton man doubled the lead in the first 35 minutes. Tau's first performance of the season certainly convinced Hugo Broos.

Since leaving Brighton, Tau has had to wait to make an impact on al-Ahly, after sustaining a hamstring injury.

It must be said that the native of Witbank hardly confirmed the expectations placed on him.

During his early years, Percy Tau had a rewarding experience in his country with the

Mamelodi Sundowns

(2013-2018).

With the Pretoria-based club, he had won several trophies, including the CAF Champions League and the national championship.

Mixed experience in Europe

Arrived on European soil in 2018,

Percy Tau

had high expectations of this trip and this adventure with Brighton in England. Except that he was immediately loaned to Belgium from the Union Saint-Gilles side. After a successful experience (35 games, 13 goals), Tau was loaned again the following year to Club Brugge. He only scores 4 goals in 30 appearances. Then, it is Anderlecht who accepts to welcome him (2020-2021). He played 14 games with

Les Mauves

and managed to score 4 goals.

In January 2021 he returned to the other side of the Channel where he only managed to play a few matches. At the end of the season (2020-2021), the player decides to change air and opts for Egypt. He joined Pitso Mosimane, the coach of the Red Devils, whom he had known during his time with the Mamelodi Sundowns.

Shining with al-Ahly, the most successful Egyptian club in the national championship and two-time champion of the CAF Champions League is a new challenge for Percy Tau.

With his return to the African continent, he would also see himself making the heyday of the Bafana Bafana.

Since 2017, he has been selected 30 times and has scored 13 goals.

“

Coming to Europe should help me play more international football.

I will learn a lot, which will also be good for my country,

”he said when he arrived in England.
