The Arabic Language Complex in Sharjah announced two sessions organized as part of the activities of the Sharjah International Book Fair in its 40th session, during which it will host a group of thinkers, speakers and specialists in Arabic language sciences, with the aim of introducing the historical lexicon of the Arabic language and its path since its inception as an idea, to the implementation stages, procedures and results achieved in This unique encyclopedic work with its characteristics, advantages and effects has remained in the advancement of the language of Daad and its preservation for future generations.

The first session will be held under the title: “The Historical Dictionary, the Process, Procedures and Results” on Wednesday, November 3, at 6:00 pm, during which the President of the Supreme Council of the Arabic Language in Algeria, Dr. Saleh Belaid, and the President of the Language Council in Mauritania, Dr. Khalil Al-Nahwi, will speak. And the scientific director of the Historical Dictionary, Dr. Mamoun Wajih, and it is managed by the Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah and the Executive Director of the Historical Dictionary, Dr. Muhammad Safi Al Mosteghanemi.

The session sheds light on the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in protecting and empowering the Arabic language by adopting initiatives to advance it and enhance its presence as a global language, as well as introducing the historical lexicon and the efforts of the scientific and executive committees to achieve it, and the mechanisms of its progress. The second session will be held next Friday at six in the evening, and it comes under the title: “The characteristics of the historical lexicon and its advantages.” The session will deal with a comparison between the historical lexicon and other dictionaries.

The Secretary-General of the Academy of the Arabic Language in Sharjah, Dr. Muhammed Safi Al Mosteghanemi, stressed that the Emirate of Sharjah occupies the forefront on the map of Arab culture in its care to strengthen our language, bequeath its love to generations, and enhance its presence among the languages ​​of the world, as a language that contributed to the preservation of human sciences.
