China News Service, Yichang, October 31, according to real-time monitoring data from the Hydrological Bureau of the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission (Yangtze River Committee) of the Ministry of Water Resources, the water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir reached 175.0 meters at 8 o'clock on October 31.

This is the Three Gorges Reservoir has completed the 175-meter water storage task for 12 consecutive years since 2010. It is also the first time that the Three Gorges Reservoir has been transferred to the normal operation period after the overall completion and acceptance of the Three Gorges project in 2020.

According to the data provided by the Bureau of Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention of the Yangtze River Committee, in the autumn of 2021, the upper reaches of the Yangtze River will receive more water than in previous years. Guarantee, 20 super-alerts, involving 18 rivers.

Facing the severe flood control situation, the Yangtze River Commission coordinated the needs of flood control, water storage, power generation, and shipping, strengthened forecasting, rolling consultations and judgments, precise joint dispatch of upstream reservoir groups, and daily optimization of the real-time dispatch plan of the Three Gorges Reservoir.

During the period, the Yangtze River Committee cooperated with the reservoir operation management unit, the power grid company, the shipping department and relevant localities to effectively deal with the multiple rounds of autumn rains in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, ensure the safety of flood control in the Sichuan-Chongqing reach and the Three Gorges Reservoir area, and successfully completed the Three Gorges Reservoir. The first water storage task during normal operation.

During the storage period of the Three Gorges Reservoir, the average discharge flow was 21,700 cubic meters per second, a record high in the same period, which fully met the needs of various types of water in the middle and lower reaches of the water supply, ecology, power generation, and shipping.

2021 is the first water storage for the Three Gorges Project to enter the normal operation period.

In late August, the Yangtze River Commission organized the preparation of the Three Gorges Reservoir's 2021 storage plan based on the experience of the previous years' experimental storage operation and operation, and it was approved by the Ministry of Water Resources on September 6.

The water storage plan coordinates the needs of flood control in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the Sichuan-Chongqing river sections. Considering the forecast of later water inflows and the small inflow of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River during the main flood season, the overall water storage pressure of the reservoir group, and the strong demand for power grids, it is clear that the reservoirs are stored. Water time, water storage progress, minimum discharge flow and other requirements.

At the end of the flood season, under the premise of ensuring the safety of flood control, the Yangtze River Commission finely controlled the middle and lower reaches of the Jinsha River and the Yalong River cascade reservoirs to store water in stages.

At present, the main controlling reservoirs in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River are basically full.

As of October 31, the 27 controlled reservoirs in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River that have been included in the joint operation have stored 58.8 billion cubic meters of water above the dead water level, providing a reliable water supply guarantee for the dry seasons of this winter and the next spring.
