Her husband Raif Badawi has been in prison for almost ten years for talking about human rights in a blog.

Saudi Ensaf Haidar is still fighting for his release and is joining her in Quebec, where she obtained Canadian citizenship and their three children.

Ensaf Haidar publishes his first novel, published by Les éditions de l'Archipel, an edifying account of human relationships in his native country.
