Gervinho is forced to forfeit the next African Cup of Nations in Cameroon because of a knee injury contracted this Friday, October 29 during the match between his Turkish club Trabzonspor and Rizespor (2-1).

Gervinho has a cruciate ligament injury in his knee and will be out for between five and six months according to his Trabzonspor coach Abdullah Avci.

The Ivorian winger injured his knee while trying to prevent the ball from going out of bounds in the 14th minute of the match against Rizespor (2-1).
