Sharjah Public Libraries of the Sharjah Book Authority launched the "Reading Adviser" initiative, organized by the Khorfakkan Public Library, in conjunction with the 40th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, which will be held at the Sharjah Expo Center from 3 to 13 November.

The initiative provides those who can register for it an exceptional opportunity to choose one of the volunteer advisors, and to benefit from his expertise and experience in selecting books suitable for each person’s specialties, inclinations or talents, by taking him on a tour of the exhibition halls accompanied by a writer or expert from the participants in the initiative.

The initiative targets all visitors to the Sharjah International Book Fair, and includes 17 writers, creators, experts in reading and libraries from the United Arab Emirates, who volunteer to present their experiences to visitors during the evening period on Friday (5 and 12) November, and also during Saturday (6 and 13) November.

Director of Sharjah Libraries Department, Iman Bushlebi, said: “The Sharjah International Book Fair represents a golden opportunity for reading lovers to renew their own libraries and select titles that add new to their knowledge and motivate them to read. For their interests, in Sharjah Public Libraries, we launched this initiative, which is organized by the Khorfakkan Public Library, with the aim of providing advice to visitors.”

And the Director of Sharjah Libraries Department continued: "A group of creators and authors with experience in the book world volunteer in the initiative (Reading Adviser), and classify books according to their different fields of knowledge, science and literature. Through our initiative, we aspire to help the largest number of visitors to benefit from the exhibition and get out of it with the publications that It makes reading for them more inspiring and interesting, as well as developing the skill of choosing books for them.”
