A carbon dioxide concentration measuring device used as a guideline for ventilation in restaurants as a countermeasure against the new coronavirus.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has decided to formulate guidelines that set the criteria for selecting equipment, saying that there are many items that cannot be measured accurately.

Due to the corona sickness, there is a growing movement in restaurants and other places to introduce carbon dioxide concentration measuring instruments to check whether ventilation is sufficient.

However, it has been confirmed that there are many things on the Internet that cannot be measured accurately.

For this reason, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has established a policy of formulating guidelines that set criteria for selecting equipment in collaboration with industry groups that manufacture gas detection and alarm devices.

Specifically, it is recommended that carbon dioxide be measured using light such as infrared rays, and that the value does not change significantly even if a hand or cloth with rubbing alcohol is brought close to the measuring instrument. It is used as a standard.

In addition, as a method of checking the accuracy of the equipment, it is effective that the value measured outdoors is about 415ppm to 450ppm, and that the value increases significantly when the equipment is blown.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will work with related ministries and industry groups to call attention to restaurants.
