From this Friday, it will be possible to show the QR code of your health pass to go to the United Kingdom.

The measure aimed at streamlining controls also applies to Armenia, reports

This follows the adoption by the European Commission of several decisions certifying that the health passes of the two countries are equivalent to that issued in the EU.

This Covid certificate "makes it possible to travel in a safer way," said Didier Reynders, commissioner in charge of justice.

“It is now the main global standard: 45 countries on four continents are connected to the system.

"

Today the Commission adopted two new decisions certifying that the #DigitalCOVIDCertificates issued by Armenia 🇦🇲 and the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 are equivalent to the EU DCC.

The paper certificate is also valid

According to the commissioner, other countries will follow in the weeks and months to come.

A total of 18 countries outside the EU have already connected to this digital system.

Among them: Albania, Andorra, the Faroes, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia and Switzerland.

This therefore means that French travelers will be able to travel to the United Kingdom or Armenia by showing the QR code attesting to their vaccination, a negative test or a recovery from the coronavirus.

The paper format of the certificate, also bearing the code, will also work.

This measure works the other way around, for travelers coming from the UK or Armenia to an EU country.
