On the 28th, following a visit to a major livelihood project in Hong Kong, a major country that is "the spirit of the times", a reporter from China News Agency came to the Hong Kong Children's Hospital to learn about the story behind the hospital's project.
The Hong Kong Children's Hospital project started in 2013 and was completed at the end of 2017. It will be put into use in phases starting in 2018.
The hospital is one of the most advanced pediatric treatment centers in Asia. It is located at the former Hong Kong Kai Tak Airport site. It covers an area of 21,700 square meters and a building area of 167,660 square meters. It provides more than 270 wards of various types with a total of 468 beds of different types. There are more than 70 laboratories.
Since the establishment of Hong Kong's first pediatric specialist in the 1960s, having a children's hospital has become the expectation of many Hong Kong medical staff.
During the visit, Zhao Lili, the operation director of China State Construction International Medical Industry Development Co., Ltd. and the former administrative director of Hong Kong Princess Margaret Hospital, told reporters that the completion of the Hong Kong Children's Hospital has realized the "50-year dream" of Hong Kong pediatricians.
Zhang Yi, the project leader of the Hong Kong Children's Hospital and the general manager of China State Construction International Medical Industry Development Co., Ltd., said that in order to better reflect the dreams of Hong Kong medical staff, the team fully considered the ideas of Hong Kong medical staff during design consultation. , I hope to build a children's hospital with characteristics and full of humanistic feelings, and also provide a better treatment environment for children.
"I went to the hospital when I was young and saw white everywhere and smelled the smell of disinfectant water, and I felt very scared every time." Zhang Yi said, therefore, when designing and building the Hong Kong Children's Hospital, he and his team members aimed to build " A hospital that is not like a hospital", hoping to create a comfortable environment suitable for children, take children as the center, and provide the best clinical treatment.
During the visit, the reporter saw that the location of the Hong Kong Children's Hospital is connected to the waterfront promenade, and its outdoor space has a high green coverage rate.
Zhang Yi said that this design is also to allow children to overcome stress, anxiety and frustration and create a healing environment.
"Art is the best gift for children." Zhang Yi said that the team also invited more than 30 artists to participate in the design of the ceramic murals in the hospital, hoping that the atmosphere full of artistic sense can keep children positive and happy. .
In addition, Zhang Yi also said that the Hong Kong Children's Hospital has always implemented the concept of green and environmental protection during the design process. Not only did it adopt a district cooling system for the first time, which greatly reduced energy consumption; it also achieved a greening rate of 40% through green roofs and vertical green walls. , More than 50% of the roof area is covered by high-reflectivity materials, which effectively weakens the heat island effect and improves air quality.
"We also make full use of the seawater adjacent to the hospital, using Hong Kong's unique seawater flushing system and dual-source flushing system." Zhang Yi pointed out that, in this way, the overall water saving rate of the Hong Kong Children's Hospital during the operation stage can reach as high as 50%. level.
It is reported that Hong Kong Children's Hospital has won a number of architectural awards at home and abroad in recent years.
The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam said on his personal social platform in June this year that he believes that the Hong Kong Children's Hospital will definitely become a project that other places at home and abroad can learn from.
In this regard, Zhang Yi also believes that the successful design and construction of Hong Kong Children's Hospital has accumulated a lot of valuable experience, which can provide useful references for the industry and contribute to the livelihood of Hong Kong.
