Installed at the National Velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines since March 2021, the vaccinodrome is closing its doors.

“The immunization mega-center quickly proved its worth and made it possible to vaccinate 350,000 people.

At the service of the populations, this tried and tested device has been the engine of extraordinary solidarity.

More than ten different trades have thus worked together, mobilizing around one hundred staff, ”recalls the site of the agglomeration of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.

300 to 500 daily vaccinations

Its president, Jean-Michel Fourgous, wanted to reassure the inhabitants this Friday. On BFMTV, he explained that a smaller center would welcome users from November 1. 300 to 500 vaccinations can be performed there each day. Much less than the 5,000 daily injections of vaccinodrome but sufficient to administer the second and third doses. This center complements the doctors, pharmacists and laboratories who are authorized to vaccinate.

"The epidemic resumption is confirmed" in France and begins to be felt in the hospital, underlined Friday the health agency Public Health France in its weekly update on the Covid-19.

In this context of increase, "it is essential to encourage the vaccination of people not vaccinated against Covid-19 as well as the administration of the booster to those 65 years and over eligible, and to maintain adherence to barrier gestures at a high level ”, insists the health agency.
