Admittedly, the weather for this great All Saints weekend is not going to be the most radiant (unless you like the rain).

But the inhabitants of the Brittany and Pays-de-la-Loire regions can still be satisfied with having experienced an exceptional October.

The sun was largely there, the cumulative sunshine approaching levels never reached whether in Rennes, Lorient, Vannes, Saint-Brieuc, Quimper or Dinard, according to Météo-France.

In Rennes, 163 hours of sun have already been totaled, while the seasonal norms do not exceed 117 hours in October.

In Lorient, 168 hours of sunshine were recorded.

It's almost as much as last August despite shorter days

Nantes, the sunny city

But it is in Pays-de-la-Loire that several records have been broken.

In Nantes, 193 hours have been recorded for the moment, clearly exceeding the previous record of 170 hours dating from October 2018. Impressive when we know that the theoretical normal for October is only 118 hours.

With 186 hours accumulated, Angers and La Roche-sur-Yon have also already done better than the 2018 record. At Le Mans, an October 1995 record fell (176.6 hours).

The average temperatures of these two regions known for their clouds are also higher than those of the previous October, without a record.

More curiously, several cities also broke a rain record on October 2.

In Nantes, a historical accumulation of 96 mm of water had been recorded on this single day.
