A Libyan comedian to run for the presidency!

If Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky played the country's president in a comedy series, his role turned into reality.

Here is the Libyan comedian Hatem El-Kour, announcing yesterday, Thursday, his intention to run for the presidential elections of Libya scheduled for December 24.

Al-Kour said in a video broadcast on social media, according to "Sky News Arabia", that despite his knowledge of the difficulty of reaching the presidency and his understanding of the surprise of many about his candidacy,

Being a simple man, an artist, and not a member of the political class, he was a person who throughout his artistic career felt for people.

He expressed his hope that he will gain popular support and that "the project he carries will be a reflection of the hopes and dreams of Libyans for stability, peace and prosperity."

In response to some questions, how can a representative become president of the country?

The answer is that it happened and it was repeated, and even an actor managed to become the president of the most powerful country in the world, the late US President Ronald Reagan.

Ukrainian actor Vladimir Zelensky, also a comedian like Alcor, was unaware that his acting performance in 'Servant of the People' would one day make him a real president.

The story of the comedy traces back to a history teacher who was led by chance to become president, who had no experience and political history.

Zelensky was 41 years old at the time when he defeated former President Petro Poroshenko in the 2019 elections, with an overwhelming result of more than 73%, thus turning the series into reality.

And if Zelensky was the latest actor to become president, it all started when Ronald Reagan, who was a sports commentator and an actor with little-known roles in American cinema, managed to get to the White House.

Reagan became the fortieth president of the United States from 1981 to 1989, although he was experienced in politics by assuming the position of Governor of California between 1967 and 1975, after a career as a Hollywood actor and head of the Screen Actors Guild, to rule the White House in succession to President Jimmy Carter.

Another actor who became Mr. President, is Joseph Estrada, who has been known for his main roles in Philippine films and soap operas for 30 years.

Estrada was able, through his artistic popularity, to win the municipal elections and then became president in 1998 to be the 13th president of the Philippines, succeeding Fidel Valdes Ramos, and he ruled from 1998 to 2001.

The fourth is Jimmy Morales, President of Guatemala, who ruled from 2016 to 2020, becoming the country's 50th president, succeeding President Alejandro Maldonado Aguirre.

Morales, was a television actor for 20 years, participated in comedy programs and films and was able, thanks to his artistic popularity, to win the 2016 presidential elections.

It is noted that Morales and Zelensky share in that what made their artistic popularity was comedy, and helped them rise to power, which is the artistic field in which the comedian Hatem El-Kour shares with them.
