Hunting has resumed well and to control the wild boar population, an unprecedented beat will be organized this Saturday in the valley of Munster (Haut-Rhin).

The local hunting interest group (GIC) is at the initiative of this event.

At least 250 hunters will participate from 7:30 am.

Their goal is to take a hundred wild boars, explains France 3 Grand-Est.

Every year, these animals cause "for five million euros of damage to crops, which we hunters must pay," lamented Raymond Blaise, president of the GIC.

We are held accountable.

Not to mention the road accidents they can cause ”.

Walkers persona non grata

The participants will be clearly identifiable.

In addition to their weapons, they will wear a fluorescent vest.

"There will be noise especially in the mountains, to kill a boar, you need four cartridges if you are very precise," detailed the hunter.

It is a very intelligent and robust animal ”.

Haut-Rhin hikers are advised to avoid the area.

"By staying at home, they participate a little in the cause like that", estimated Raymond Blaise.

The latter also explained that despite the school holidays, it was "the best period" to organize the beaten.

Bare trees provide the best possible visibility.
