On October 26, at a press conference held by the Ministry of Education, Du Yuejun, deputy director of the Metrology Department of the State Administration of Market Supervision, introduced the strengthening of market supervision in the field of myopia prevention and control and the promotion of visual health.
Du Yuejun said that from 2020 to the first half of 2021, the national market supervision department investigated and dealt with 650 cases of violations of the quality of spectacles and spectacle lens products, with a value of 1.0602 million yuan and a fine of 1.7161 million yuan. There were 235 cases of illegal measurement by measuring instruments such as degree meters, with a fine of 237,600 yuan.
Du Yuejun pointed out that in 2021, the State Administration of Market Supervision will deploy special enforcement actions against unfair competition in key areas, highlight key populations, focus on outstanding issues, and severely investigate and punish false propaganda activities and false illegal advertising related to myopia correction.
