China discovers the world's oldest Ribscale clefttooth fish for the first time in Asia 244 million years ago

On October 26, the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences reported that the latest research by Xu Guanghui’s research team of three ancient fish fossils from the Triassic marine strata in Luoping, Yunnan, found that they were At present, the world’s oldest known schistodon fishes have advanced the record of the earliest discovery of schistodon fishes by about 2 million years.

This is also the first discovery of this fish in Asia, hence the name Asian Ribscale Schistodon.
