Bill Murray may have said more than Disney would have liked, but the damage is done: he will be in the next
Ant-Man
.
The actor, who is currently promoting
Wes Anderson's
The French Dispatch
, made this confidence to the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, relayed by Variety.
“Recently I made a Marvel movie.
I probably shouldn't tell you that, but whatever.
Some were quite surprised with my decision and the reason why I embarked on such a project, ”he said, referring to
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
.
Good feeling
And indeed, the actor navigates more on the independent side, with directors like Jim Jarmusch and Sofia Coppola, even if the general public has also been able to appreciate it from the 80s in
Ghostbusters
and its sequels.
“For me, things were pretty clear: I got to know the director - and I really enjoyed him.
He was funny, humble, whatever you want in a filmmaker, ”he explained of Peyton Reed, who also directed a movie the actor particularly loves,
American Girls
.
"Suddenly, I accepted, even if I'm not interested more than that, as an actor, by these huge comic book adaptations," added Bill Murray.
Don't expect his role to be a recurring one though, "Let's put it like this: the director is a nice guy, and now I at least know what it's like to shoot a Marvel movie."
But I don't think I will need this experience a second time.
