BFM Marseille Provence, BFM Nice Côte d'Azur and BFM Toulon Var.

These are the names of the three new local channels that BFMTV is launching, available as their name suggests in the south-east of France.

These creations constitute the second phase of BFM's establishment in the region.

There is already a local channel in the south, launched last July.

It turns from today into three local channels.

They will have their own programs and presenters in the mornings and evenings.

"These three channels will operate from Tuesday on the classic model of local BFMTV channels, that is to say 100% local news, services (weather, traffic, air quality ...), and proximity to everything that makes up the daily life of citizens in the areas concerned, such as sport, leisure, culture, etc. ", explains to Europe 1 Hervé Béroud, Deputy CEO of Altice Medias, the group to which belongs to BFMTV.

In detail, the launch of the local Marseille will take place Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Then will come Wednesday that of the locals of Toulon and Nice.

Synergies between the national channel and its locals

As for the resources deployed, around twenty journalists will work in Marseille, as many in Nice and a little less in Toulon. In all, about fifty journalists will work in these three premises. Means that could also benefit the national channel BFMTV. "Everyone works for everyone: what is produced by our local channels is used by BFMTV. The subjects shot directly in the regions are ready more quickly, we can be more responsive and more powerful", indicates Hervé Béroud. "And conversely, when BFMTV is on the ground in an area of our local channels, BFMTV also gives a hand to them. It's a virtuous circle."

The deputy CEO of Altice Medias told Europe 1 to work on the launch of two local news in 2022: one in the east and the other in the west.

Without revealing in which cities precisely the chain will be established.
