Seized urgently by the defenders of nature, the judge of the summary proceedings of the Council of State suspended this Monday "the new hunting authorizations of several birds (thrushes, blackbirds, lapwing, golden plovers, skylarks) by techniques traditional ”.
Eight orders had been published by the government on Friday to reintroduce these techniques, including the very controversial slime hunt, which had been challenged by the courts.
“Last August, the Council of State canceled the authorizations of previous years on the grounds of non-compliance with European law of a regulation of 1989. The new authorizations being issued on the basis of this same regulation, the judge of summary proceedings considers that there is a serious doubt as to their legality, ”indicates the administrative court.
