It smells like the end of year celebrations!
The large Christmas tree, of which it is the symbol and which traditionally sits on Place Kléber in Strasbourg, was taken this Monday morning from the town of Val-et-Châtillon, east of Nancy, in Meurthe-et-Moselle.
"It's a great honor for the town, we are very proud,"
the mayor, Thierry Culmet
, told
France Bleu at
the microphone.
The latter had been informed of the good news by the National Forestry Office (ONF).
And this for already eight weeks, specify our colleagues.

As practically every year, the big tree will measure in the 30 meters and will lose a very little height, on November 2, during its installation on the place, technical constraints oblige, in the concrete base which awaits it in the capital. Alsatian.
So far, the tree has been placed with the greatest care on the long trailer of a heavy truck.
The bad memory of the suspended conifer which breaks in two when loading is still hovering ... An appointment is therefore given, weather permitting, on November 2, in the early morning, in the heart of Strasbourg for the traditional ascent of the fir.
