The H2A rocket No. 44, which is equipped with the artificial satellite "Michibiki" that enhances the accuracy of position information such as smartphones and car navigation systems, will be launched from the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture after 11:00 am on the 26th.

"Michibiki" is a national artificial satellite that complements the GPS satellites of the United States and enhances the accuracy of position information such as smartphones and car navigation systems in Japan, and is also called the "Japanese GPS satellite".

At the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture, preparations for launching the H2A rocket No. 44 equipped with "Michibiki" are ongoing, and it is planned to be launched at 11:19 am on the 26th.

"Michibiki" is currently in operation with four aircraft, but since the first aircraft has already reached the end of its design life, this time it will be the successor to the fifth aircraft.

With this launch, we will maintain a service that provides highly accurate location information in a stable manner.

The rocket was originally scheduled to be launched on the 25th, but has been postponed to the 26th due to expected adverse weather conditions.
