We knew the figures: from 50 km / h, the speed will be limited to 30 km / h in Lyon next spring.

We now know the date of entry into force of the measure: Grégory Doucet announced that this decrease would begin on March 30, 2022. The elected ecologist formalized the date on the sidelines of a general assembly of EELV, Saturday October 23 .

Signage changes to be expected

Work will be necessary for the streets concerned, that is the majority of the city: they will indeed have to provide for two-way traffic for two-wheelers.

The mayor of Lyon, whose measure is at the heart of the political program, indicated that "the fittings and signage will be made accordingly (...), in coordination with the Metropolis", reports

Lyon Capitale.

Only certain very circulating axes will remain at 50 km / h, and will be known at the end of the year.

This new “Ville 30” measure has already been in place in Oullins since June 2019, in Poleymieux-en-mont-d'Or since January 2021, and will soon be in La Mulatière.
