Nicaragua is "

one of the worst dictatorships in the world

" declared, Monday, October 18, 2021, Josep Borrell, the head of European diplomacy.

The twenty-seven countries of the European Union will not recognize the result of the presidential election organized in two weeks in the small Central American country, while most of the opposition candidates are in prison or in exile.

There is no doubt about the re-election of President Daniel Ortega.

To talk about it, Florent Guignard is online with Gilles Bataillon, specialist in Central America at the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS).
