The Sharjah Ladies Club launched a new service "floating wheelchair" for the category of elderly women and people of determination, forming the first destination in the Emirate of Sharjah, which provides this service for this special category of women, and the provision of beach chairs with floating wheels enables women of this category to enter the beach, and enjoy Practicing swimming in a safe and private manner.
The beach slopes were also smoothly equipped according to the approved standards that suit the needs of the target group of women, to ensure their smooth transition through the sand of the beach to the sea water, in addition to ensuring all the accompanying procedures that comply with their requirements and ensure their safety and not being exposed to any danger while on the beach.
And out of the club’s constant and permanent keenness to listen to the views and suggestions of its members, this service was launched in an effort to develop and upgrade its services, and rehabilitate its facilities to suit all the needs of this societal group of women, and enable them to enjoy and benefit from its services and facilities comfortably, and to achieve an integrated civilized environment that constitutes a haven. Enjoyed by all visitors and members of the club.
The Director General of the Sharjah Ladies Club, Khawla Al Sarkal, said that this achievement is added to the club's achievements, which support its position as a friendly party for people with disabilities and the elderly, and confirm its endeavors towards enhancing its social responsibility, by providing qualified facilities and the finest services that take into account their requirements and special needs.
For her part, Director of the Club’s Strategic Planning Office, Sheikha Al-Suwaidi, indicated that the floating wheelchair is of high quality and is equipped in accordance with international safety requirements and standards, as it provides a smooth transition for its users from the corridor to the shore, and floats over sea water, and has been designed with special standards that prevent discomfort while driving. On the floors, it ensures a comfortable position and perfect balance during its use in the water, and is also portable, foldable and easy to store.
