The JR Yamanote Line is the section from Ikebukuro Station on the inner loop to Osaki Station, and will be suspended for two days on the 23rd and 24th due to construction work.

The number of trains operating on other sections and outside is scheduled to be less than usual, and JR East is calling for the use of transfer transportation and movement with plenty of time.

The number of Saikyo Lines running in parallel on both days will increase

JR East has been working on improving Shibuya Station for six years, and after the last train on the 22nd, it will relocate the inner loop of the Yamanote Line and start work to widen the platform.

Due to this effect, all trains are scheduled to be suspended for two days from the first train on the 23rd to the 24th on the section from Ikebukuro Station to Osaki Station via Shibuya Station on the inner loop of the Yamanote Line.

Along with this, the number of Yamanote Line trains will be about 30% of the normal number in the other sections of the inner loop, and about 60% of the normal section from Osaki station on the outer loop to Ikebukuro station via Shibuya station. It means that it will decrease to about 90% of the normal in other sections.

JR East plans to increase the number of trains on some lines, such as the Saikyo Line, which runs parallel to the suspended sections, and to operate temporary trains that connect Shinjuku Station to Shinjuku Station via Shibuya Station.

In addition, transfer transportation is to be carried out on the Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway, and JR East is calling for the use of transfer transportation and movement with plenty of time.

Calling JR users to be careful about suspension of operations

Before some sections of the inner loop of the JR Yamanote Line will be suspended from the 23rd due to the construction work, JR East is preparing for the construction work and calling attention to users.

At the side of the inner loop of the Yamanote Line at JR Shibuya Station, preparations for construction are underway, such as the preparation of a special crane car that can run on both the railroad and the road.

After the last train on the 22nd, a maximum of about 800 workers will work on the relocation and removal of railroad tracks, the movement of overhead lines, and the widening of the platform at the same time.

On the other hand, JR is also calling attention to users, and has repeatedly announced the schedule of suspension on the platform and in the vehicle.

In addition, a station employee at Shibuya Station put up a poster beside the ticket gate to promote awareness.

A 21-year-old female college student who plans to go out on the weekend said, "I've heard about suspensions, but I wasn't really aware of it. I want to be careful about leaving home early or checking in advance." I was talking.
