Muriel Lasserre, isolated mother of Yanis, a 9-year-old boy with autism, has chosen an action that is both desperate and spectacular to advance the cause of her son.
Since 4:30 am this Wednesday, it has been perched 40 meters high, on the crane of a construction site at the Ramassiers station, on the border between the cities of Toulouse and Colomiers.
Yanis, whose autistic disorders were diagnosed at the age of two and a half, is educated in an ordinary environment with the help of a school life assistant (AVS) and followed at home by a team of private caregivers.
Asthma and allergies have recently complicated his situation.
Aid revised downwards
According to the members of the Citoyen Handicap collective, the mother of the family has just been notified by the Departmental House of Handicapped Persons (MDPH 31) of a drop in aid which allows her to pay the medical team.
"For them, Yanis' place is an institution," presumes Mélanie, one of Muriel's supporters, present at the foot of the crane.
Around 10 am this morning, elected officials from the departmental council and a representative of the MDPH were on site and had contacted the mother perched by phone.
