Female elephant crushes crocodile in defense of her son (video)

The world's communication platforms circulated a video taken by a tourist during a safari trip in Zambia, the horrific moments of an angry female elephant crushing a crocodile that threatened her calf to death.

The video, taken by tourist Hans Henrik Haar, last August, documents a giant female elephant who grabbed a crocodile by the tail, trampled it and crushed it to death.

The crocodile, which appears to be between 8 and 10 feet in length and tried to kill its calf, appeared rushing into the shallow waters while the female elephant continued to crush it, and after a minute, it appeared that the female elephant was holding the crocodile by its tail, while the rest of its body was under water.

The crocodile did not show any movement and remained stable under water, until the end of the furious attack, which indicates that it was mortally wounded or died in a crush, according to the British newspaper The Sun.

"Guests witnessed these dramatic scenes unfold between two of Africa's most feared megafauna," Beans River Camp said on its Facebook account.

According to the “Sky News” website, this is not the first time that he has revealed mutual attacks between these two huge animals. In 2019, a dead elephant was found above a “powdered” crocodile after a brutal fight to the death between the two giants, as the image showed the flat nose of the crocodile and its feet protruding. From under the bulk of the body of the dead elephant, whose head was devoured by other predators.
