• The proof that the Covid-19 epidemic would only be a plan orchestrated by certain influential people to establish the digital control of each citizen would lie ... in a patent for invention which can be consulted online.

  • This is what an Internet user claims in a viral video, browsing the patent filed by a certain Richard Rothschild in October 2015 and relating to a Covid-19 screening system.

  • If this patent does exist, it did not mention Covid-19 at the time: the term was only added in 2020, after the start of the epidemic, in an updated version of this biometric screening tool.

Some internet users are convinced of this: the Covid-19 epidemic would only be a masquerade or - worse - a scenario long anticipated by some people in high places to better plunge our societies into the era of digital control.

And a viral video, particularly shared in recent days, would support precisely this conspiracy theory.

In this two-minute sequence, a woman films her computer screen explaining to her audience the process she is taking.

“I'm making a little video for you so that you can see this site, PubChem, with your own eyes.

It is a database of chemical molecules and activities (sic).

It is an official site.

[…] You go to "patents", you go to "test method system for Covid-19" and you see that on October 13, 2015, the inventor of this Covid-19 method system was none other than Richard Rothschild.

"

"You have the Google patent that goes well with [...] and you will find a lot of information on our famous Covid-19 and what they obviously want to do, that is to say chip us and have all our data connected to our smartphones.

[…] We have been right from the start, every day I find overwhelming evidence, ”she continues, scrolling through excerpts from the document in question.

FAKE OFF

A visit to the PubChem site - an American database managed by the National Library of Medicine - following the instructions in the video allows you to find the famous patent of the so-called Richard Rothschild.

According to its description, this invention “relates to a method of acquiring and transmitting biometric data” of a patient to determine whether he “suffers from a viral infection, such as Covid-19”. "The method includes the use of a pulse oximeter to acquire at least the percentage of pulse and oxygen saturation in the blood, which is transmitted wirelessly to a smartphone", can we still read on this page .

Except that if this patent was filed in the United States in October 2015, several dates in 2020 also appear on the document.

Quite simply because its author made a "continuation deposit", that is to say he added a posteriori new demands to his initial document, as explained by our colleagues from AFP Factuel in October 2020, when this intox was already circulating on social networks.

A 2015 patent without mention of Covid-19

In its original version of 2015, its patent referred to a system for analyzing biometric data, without mentioning the term "Covid-19".

The latter only appeared in 2020, when the patent was updated, after the start of the global epidemic of the virus.

Finally, contrary to what some Internet users assume, the Richard Rothschild in question has no connection with members of the Rothschild family active in the financial field - often associated with conspiratorial rumors - as confirmed by the bank of Rothschild & Co business at AFP.
