The town hall of Saran (Loiret), near Orleans, has let it be known that it is renewing its “heating allowance” operation.

The inhabitants of the city over the age of 62 will thus be able to receive 375 euros at the end of the year if they meet the resource criteria set by the municipal majority PCF, indicates France Bleu Orléans.

The aim is to respond to soaring energy prices.

109 beneficiaries last year

Last year, 109 people benefited from this assistance

.

To finance it, the communal social action center (CCASS) of Saran has a budget of 40,000 euros.

"Beneficiaries must have a monthly income threshold not exceeding 1,088.77 euros for a single person and 1,689.38 euros for a couple," the town hall explained in a statement.

Those interested have until November 19 to make themselves known.

Several municipalities already offer this type of assistance.

Toulon pays 60 euros to the elderly while smaller ones like Courchevel, offer 150 euros to over 75s.

This municipal allowance can be combined with the energy check and its additional aid of 100 euros promised by the government in December 2021.
